I Built a Snowman There Once

I built a snowman there once.

My friends and I laughed and played.

I never thought that I would grow up,

And I didn’t think that the city would either.

My friends and I laughed and played.

We would not dream of hurting a fly,

And I didn’t think that the city would either,

Until they destroyed what I once called home.

We would not dream of hurting a fly,

But the city had other plans,

Because they destroyed what I once called home

And built that goddamn bridge.

The city had other plans

They built a shopping mall, too

And praised that damn bridge.

I’ll never forgive them for that.

They worshiped the shopping mall, too.

I built a snowman there once.

I’ll never forgive them for what they did,

And I never thought that I would grow up.
