The reason people commit suicide is not because they are lacking a relationship with God. People commit suicide because of people like you. People commit suicide because you tell young girls that they are condemned to eternal damnation because they like other girls. People kill themselves because they are afraid to come out to people like you. People kill themselves because not only are they unsafe on the street, but they are also unsafe in their grandparent’s house! I wish you would listen to me when I speak, but you are blinded by the ignorance that has been instilled in you since you were a child. Listen to me. I am still your grandchild for crying out loud. It is never too late to learn something new. You do not have to worry about me, though. I will never kill myself. Our conversation might just have saved my life, but it is too bad that I will be silent and cold to you for the rest of yours. I will not kill myself because I do not want anyone to hear you say, “She should have turned back to Christianity.” It is, however, going to feel like I died, because you deserve no part in a life that you tried to rip apart.
